Poco has officially made an announcement regarding the launch date of its upcoming Poco F9 series, thereby ending months of speculation around the new smartphone lineup. The series is expected to include two models, and these are Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra, and they will be launched globally on September 1. 

Well, the upcoming Poco F9 series is expected to arrive as a rebranded version of the iconic Redmi K100 series, which is presently available only in China. Both the smartphones are expected to feature flagship-level specifications, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. 

Poco F9 Series Launch Date and Models

The launch date for the F9 series in international markets has been set for September 1 at 8 PM GMT (September 2 at 1:30 AM IST).

These have been revealed by POCO to be:

  • POCO F9 Pro
  • POCO F9 Ultra

Similar to the previous generation, POCO will be going ahead with the Pro and Ultra models, skipping the standard POCO F9.

From the teaser released by the company, the phone has been seen in two colours – white and dark cherry. The dark cherry colour resembles the Cabernet Sauvignon colour offered in the Redmi K100 series in China.

Poco F9 Series Design and Features 

It is believed that the design of the Poco F9 series will be more or less identical to the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max variants, which were launched in China.

The “Sound by Bose” logo is also displayed on the back panel of these teaser images, indicating that the smartphones might have their sound profile tuned with the help of Bose.

It was previously reported that the Poco F9 Pro can include a 6.59-inch QHD+ plastic OLED screen with a 185 Hz refresh rate.

The Poco F9 Ultra model will be equipped with a 6.85-inch screen providing 2608 x 1200 pixel resolution.

Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra Expected Performance 

According to sources, both devices are likely to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, making the phones flagship-performance smartphones.

The Poco F9 lineup will come with:

  • RAM up to 16 GB
  • Internal Storage up to 512 GB

It has been revealed that the Poco F9 Pro is likely to come with a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip like the one used in the Redmi K100 Pro in China.

Poco F9 Series Camera Details 

The Poco F9 Pro is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup.

Poco F9 Series Expected Availability 

Global release for the F9 range by Poco is already confirmed, but more information related to availability in India and specifications remains undisclosed.

Due to their flagship features, high refresh rate screens, and powerful processors, the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra are set to battle in the premium smartphone category when released in the global market.
