Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro range and the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, at the ‘Surprise and Shine’ event hosted by the company on Wednesday. Shortly after unveiling its new smartphones: Apple also revamped its India online store and increased prices of some older models like the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Apple has increased prices on its devices. There were several reports indicating that the previous CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, had warned that owing to RAM and storage shortages, there would be more price hikes in the future. It was observed that both the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air, released last year, were available at substantially reduced prices.
iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air New Prices in India
Prices of iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air have been revised by Apple through its official website in India.
The new starting price for the iPhone 17 with 256GB storage space is Rs. 99,900 while that for the iPhone 17 with 512GB storage space is Rs. 1,24,900.
This marks a Rs. 17,000 price increase compared to its launch price. The iPhone 17 was launched last year in India at a starting price of Rs. 82,900.

iPhone Air Gets Major Price Increase
The iPhone Air is now available in India at a starting price of Rs. 1,49,900 for the 256GB variant.
The higher storage models are priced at:
- 512GB: Rs. 1,74,900
- 1TB: Rs. 2,24,900
The smartphone was originally launched last year at:
- 256GB: Rs. 1,19,900
- 512GB: Rs. 1,39,900
- 1TB: Rs. 1,59,900
iPhone 17e Sees the Biggest Price Increase
The recently launched iPhone 17e has also received a price hike in India. The cost for the 256GB now stands at Rs. 79,900, and the 512GB variant is being sold at Rs. 1,04,900.
The iPhone 17e was launched in India on March 2, with prices starting at Rs. 64,900 for the 256GB variant. The 512GB model was launched at Rs. 84,900.
Among the three models, the iPhone 17e has received the highest price increase.
The price change came after the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo by Apple at its “Surprise and Shine” event. The price of both iPhone 18 Pro devices is much higher than the last generation devices.
