Instagram has introduced a new feature that will allow users to decide which tagged posts will be displayed on their main profile grid. The feature is being introduced globally, providing users with an alternative means of managing content that has been tagged.
Under the new feature, tagged posts can be removed from the dedicated Instagram Tagged section and displayed on the user’s main profile grid. This change can easily be undone at a later stage without altering the original post or taking it off the Tagged section.
Instagram Adds New Way to Show Tagged Posts on Main Profile Grid
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, announced this feature via an Instagram post, noting that the feature is now becoming accessible globally. This feature gives Instagram users the option of adding tagged posts to their main grid.
There are three methods of adding tagged posts to a main grid offered by Instagram. The first is through the notification in the direct message whenever the user gets tagged in any post. This can be done from the three-dot menu found on the tagged post.
The second method is to press and hold a tagged post on the Tagged tab and select to add the post to the main grid.
How Tagged Posts Appear on the Instagram Profile Grid
Moving a tagged post to the main profile grid does not change the original upload. Users can later remove the post from their main grid without deleting the original post or removing it from the Tagged section.
The newly created tagged posts will, by default, be in reverse chronological order. Nevertheless, for users who have reorganised the profile grid previously, there is no need to revert to the initial order, as creating new tagged posts will not affect the previous organisation.
This feature could be employed for various kinds of tagged posts, ranging from group photos to collaborations of creators.
Users are thus given more control over which tagged posts they want to have near their own posts.
This feature is being rolled out worldwide; however, Instagram does not provide any specific time frame for its deployment.
