Google’s Fitbit Air fitness tracker has allegedly begun to surface in Indian retail shops prior to its official launch. Pictures posted online show the screenless device in various colour variants, indicating that retailers have probably gotten hold of pre-launched units from the company.
The tech giant has already stated that its Fitbit Air will be launched in India in October 2026, although no exact date, price, and other information have been revealed by the company.
Fitbit Air Spotted in Multiple Colours
An X user has posted pictures of the alleged Fitbit Air in a retail store. The Fitbit Air was seen in black, blue, and red colour choices that are believed to be the same as their global versions that are called Obsidian, Lavender, and Cherry, respectively.
The fog colour variant that is also found globally was not seen in the posted images.
It is said in the post that one retailer is selling the Fitbit Air for about ₹16,000, which is more expensive than its global minimum price tag of $99.99 (approximately ₹9,400). In addition, Google has released a Fitbit Air Special Edition in collaboration with Stephen Curry that costs $129.99 (approximately ₹12,300) in the international market.
Google has not yet revealed the official Indian price for the device.
Google Fitbit Air India Launch Details
The Fitbit Air is slated for release in India in October 2026, according to an earlier announcement from Google. The new wearable was demonstrated during the Made by Google India briefing, where details of the device’s India release were disclosed.
Unlike the conventional smartwatch, the Fitbit Air does not have a screen. The new watch is meant to track fitness and health passively while the user checks more data about it using the Google Health mobile application.

The fitness tracker without a display screen includes various health and activity tracking features, and some of them have been listed below:
- Heart rate monitoring 24/7
- Heart rhythm tracking with AFib notifications
- Blood oxygen level tracking (SpO2)
- Monitoring of resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability tracking
- Tracking sleep stages
- Sleep time tracking
Fitness tracker functionality includes automatic detection of workouts by the user and manual logging of activities, as well as guided workouts via the associated app.
A New Approach to Fitness Tracking
Google’s new approach through the Fitbit Air is quite different from other smartwatches. The watch doesn’t have any screen notifications or distractions; it just concentrates on constant monitoring of your health.
The “pebble” shape of the watch is meant to target those customers who require information on their physical activities but don’t wear smartwatches.
With the upcoming India release of the new watch by Google, more information about its cost and availability will become known very soon. However, from the recent retail reports, it becomes evident that the Fitbit Air can come to India even before its official launch date.
