Apple is now launching AppleCare One Family, which is an extended service that covers device protection for people who are in the US. This subscription will be an extension of Apple’s current AppleCare One program but will cover eligible devices of different members of the same family.
The newly launched AppleCare plan is for families that prefer getting the AppleCare plan under one subscription rather than covering devices individually. AppleCare has revealed this plan in the US and is going to launch the service this month.
AppleCare One Family Costs $49.99 Per Month
As reported by MacRumors, the subscription service of AppleCare One Family will cost $49.99 (around Rs. 4,800) each month in the US. Coverage is given to eligible devices for members in a Family Sharing group.
Theft or loss coverage is given for eligible iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch devices. It continues to retain the coverage options that have been provided by AppleCare+.
Apple says that there is no cap on the number of claims that can be made each year in terms of accidental damage and warranty coverage. However, the number of theft or loss claims can be up to six per year.
AppleCare One Family Can Cover Existing and New Devices
The AppleCare One Family plan can also cover eligible Apple products that have been purchased by family members prior to subscription. Apple maintains that almost all devices under four years old and in proper condition can be eligible; however, a diagnostic test might be necessary in some cases.
Users can add or manage their eligible devices from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
The cost of $49.99 per month for the subscription remains the same, irrespective of adding more eligible products. Moreover, any newly bought devices by family members will be covered automatically without incurring any extra cost.
AppleCare One Family Supports Up to Six People
To join AppleCare One Family, a Family Sharing Group needs to be created. The creation needs to be done via the Settings app on iPhones, iPads, or Macs.
Afterwards, the person in charge of creating the Family Sharing Group can invite up to five more individuals to the group, thus making the total number of individuals eligible for AppleCare One Family up to six.
Individuals may manage their devices under AppleCare One Family by accessing Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty on iPhones, iPads, or Macs. The addition, removal, and switching of devices are allowed under certain conditions.
AppleCare One Family vs AppleCare One
AppleCare One Family is an improvement on the existing AppleCare One subscription service for multiple devices, which was launched in the US by Apple in July 2025.
The previous AppleCare One subscription service still costs $19.99 (about Rs. 1,900) monthly for three devices, as per MacRumors. Every extra device will cost you $5.99 (about Rs. 600).
AppleCare One is now available in Australia, France, Germany, and the UK too.
AppleCare One Family Availability
According to sources, AppleCare One Family will start becoming available in the US starting on September 14. However, there has been no information released about other markets.
