According to the news, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be released in China soon. It is anticipated that the next-generation flagship line-up would consist of the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max models.
In preparation for the launch of the devices, Xiaomi has unveiled design information, colour choices, display information, etc. The phones will come in at least three different colour variants, one of which is blue. It will have a privacy display feature much like Samsung’s Privacy Display present in Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra phones.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Launch Date and Colour Options
Xiaomi officially made an announcement through its Weibo post saying that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will be launched in China on September 23rd at 7 pm, which translates to 4:30 pm IST.
The range is rumoured to comprise two variants: the Xiaomi 18 Pro and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Both smartphones are rumoured to come in at least three colour variants: Black, Starry River Blue, and White.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Design
The Xiaomi 18 Pro lineup will have a design that is similar to its predecessors. Both devices will be equipped with a second display on the back panel, just as in the previous generation of smartphones.
Nonetheless, Xiaomi claims that the back screen will have a completely new function, dubbed “Versatile Back Screen”. The smartphones will come with 0.99mm thin bezels around the front screen.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Display Specifications
Xiaomi has disclosed display details for the Xiaomi 18 Pro phone. The smartphone will have a flat OLED display with future-proofed M11 emissive material as well as next-gen green light-emitting material. These upgrades are expected to result in a 20% increase in luminous efficiency.
The display will provide 4,000 nits of peak brightness and be equipped with an RGB non-lossy matrix. As per the company, the screen will have an energy consumption level of 1.5K panels with a resolution equal to 2K.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Privacy Display Feature
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be unveiled with the new hardware-based privacy display. The technology would function similarly to Samsung’s Privacy Display technology.
The display panel will incorporate wide-view and narrow-view pixels. When the privacy mode is turned on, the display will deactivate the wider pixels so that the viewing angle becomes narrower. It aims at preventing the nearby people from seeing anything on the screen.
Xiaomi 18 Series India Launch Timeline
Meanwhile, sources have reported that Xiaomi 18 series phones may debut in India in December, according to tipster Debayan Roy (@Gadgetsdata).
The Pro models of the Xiaomi 18 series were not launched in India last year. Moreover, there is no confirmation from Xiaomi about the rumoured December release schedule of its upcoming models.
