Bose has upgraded its Sport Open Earbuds, along with introducing the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen). Both earbuds make use of open-ear technology through which the user is able to hear everything around while using the audio.
The updated version of Bose Sport Open Earbuds is meant for running, exercise, and outdoor usage. It makes use of cuff-shaped earbuds, which are placed around the outer ear without covering the ear canal. The Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) are similar in design to the older ones but come with better audio, better call quality, longer battery life, and Cinema Mode.
Bose Sport Open Earbuds, Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) Price and Availability
Bose Sport Open Earbuds are sold for $199 (approximately Rs. 19,000). The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) have a price tag of $299 (approximately Rs. 28,600).
Both devices are slated to be released in the US market from October 1. Pre-orders started on September 19 via Bose.com and selected retailers.
The Bose Sport Open Earbuds are available in three colour variants – Black, White Smoke, and Eucalyptus Green. The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) come in five colour variants: Black, White Smoke, Cherry Chocolate, Olive Green, and Sky Pink.
As of now, Bose has not yet released details regarding prices or launch dates for India.
Bose Sport Open Earbuds Features and Specifications
The Bose Sport Open Earbuds are equipped with a comfortable silicone C-arm cuff that guarantees a stable fit while running, exercising, or being engaged in any outdoor activity. They boast an open-ear design that allows the ear canals to remain clear.
Bose Sport Open Earbuds are powered by custom-designed dynamic drivers with Bose OpenAudio technology. Additionally, they offer Auto Volume functionality, which automatically regulates the level of playback depending on changes in the surrounding sound levels.
Bose has provided textured buttons that control music playback, calls, and volume. Moreover, the earbuds feature SpeechClarity technology. Each earbud has a separate microphone and voice pickup unit that isolates the user’s voice from any ambient noise during calls.
The earbuds offer Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair, and Multipoint connectivity with the possibility to connect to two different devices. They are compatible with SBC and AAC audio codecs. The IP54-rated earbuds are protected against sweat, splashes, and dust.
According to the official claims of Bose, the Sport Open Earbuds can offer up to seven hours of music playback with a single charge. A wireless charging case extends battery life up to 22 hours.
Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) Features and Specifications
The new generation of Bose Ultra Open Earbuds retains the cuff-shaped open-ear design. They have an improved driver that allows them to provide better bass and increased volume levels.
The earbuds have SpeechClarity and Auto Volume features. It introduces Cinema Mode, which is enabled by Bose TrueSpatial technology. The company says that this feature provides a wide soundstage for videos and podcasts without affecting the centre of dialogue.
A new design was introduced with a refined metal cap having bevelled edges.
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) work with Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair and multipoint technology, which allows working simultaneously with two devices. They have support for the SBC and AAC codecs. Additionally, they have support for Snapdragon Sound with the aptX Adaptive codec on Android devices.
According to Bose, the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) can play for nine hours. The wireless charging case provides an additional 19.5 hours of battery life.
