Apple has finally revealed the date for its hardware launch event after weeks of speculation. The Apple Surprise and Shine event, is scheduled for September 9, during which the company will launch its latest gadgets, which include the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Although no products have been revealed by Apple, sources say that the iPhone refresh would be a major highlight of the event. Along with the iPhone 18 series, the company is also expected to launch new products across multiple categories, including the Apple Watch Series 12.
Apple September Event Date, Time, and Venue
Apple has confirmed the event by sending out the invitation through all its official social media handles. The event will take place in Steve Jobs Theater, Apple Park, Cupertino, California, following Apple’s tradition of holding its annual September event at this location.
The timings for the event will be:
- 10:00 AM PT (Pacific Time)
- 10:30 PM IST (India)
Apple will conduct a live stream of the event for people around the world via its official website, YouTube channel, and the Apple TV app, which can be viewed on both Apple and Android platforms.
Apple ‘Surprise and Shine’ Event May Mark a Shift in Format
One of the major surprises that the world expects from the upcoming Apple event is likely to be the return to the old-fashioned in-person event. Following the pandemic outbreak, the company used pre-recorded video launches, which are being aired to their guests and viewers from Apple Park.
Nevertheless, there are rumours that the company is about to return to the classic format of the event, in which Apple managers present new products right away on stage.
Though there will be a shift in how the event is organised, viewers will still have a chance to watch the presentation from home online.
iPhone 18 Series and Apple Watch Series 12 Expected at Launch
The key highlight of the September launch is expected to be the launch of the iPhone 18 range. As per reports, Apple is planning to roll out the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, but it is unclear what features the products will have.
In addition to the iPhones, Apple is also set to revamp the lineup of smartwatches with the launch of Apple Watch Series 12. The products will come with improvements in terms of design, performance, and features that are health-related, but all details are expected to be known only at the time of the event.
The event is expected to be a continuation of the annual cycle of updates to Apple’s hardware.
Apple Event Comes Ahead of Leadership Transition
The September launch event will also come amid a crucial phase for Apple management. Apple had earlier announced that its CEO, Tim Cook, would leave the job later this year after serving in the capacity of CEO for more than a decade.
John Ternus, Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple, is scheduled to take over the mantle of CEO from September 1, 2026.
While Cook will be leaving the CEO post, it was announced that he would continue to play a role at Apple as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. The new role would include working on issues such as strategic direction and interaction with policymakers across the globe.
As far as new products and leadership changes are concerned, Apple’s launch event slated for September 9 looks to be among the most awaited ones by the tech giant in recent times.
