On Wednesday, Samsung announced a new Galaxy event for August 27, 2026, where it is expected to introduce a new smartphone in the Galaxy S26 series.
This will be Samsung’s third major hardware launch event of the year. The company had previously unveiled the Galaxy S26 series in February, followed by the latest Galaxy Z foldable smartphones in July.
Samsung has not officially revealed the name of its upcoming device. But the company has described it as the “newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family,” strongly indicating that the launch could be for the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE.
Samsung Galaxy Event to Take Place Virtually
Well, the August Galaxy event is all set to take place online and will be streamed live through Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel.
The event has been scheduled for August 27 and will start at 9:00 pm KST, or 5:30 pm IST.
Samsung has also mentioned that its upcoming S26 series device will also bring several premium Galaxy S26 features, including improvements related to the camera and artificial intelligence, to a wider network of users.
Moreover, the company has also confirmed that the smartphone will be running on the latest version of One UI. This is expected to be Android 17-based One UI 9, which was first introduced with Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Specifications Expected
Though Samsung has not confirmed any specifications, several reports have already provided an idea about what the Galaxy S26 FE could provide.
The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The screen could also support a 120 Hz refresh rate and reach up to 1,900 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood. The Galaxy S25 FE may be powered by the Exynos 2500 chipset. It could come with 8GB of RAM and offer storage of up to 256GB.
Camera and Battery Details
The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is also expected to feature a triple rear camera.
As per some reports, it could consist of a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor, and an ultra-wide-angle camera. A 12-megapixel front camera might be introduced for selfies and video calls.
Additionally, the phone could also pack a 4,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging.
What to Expect From the Launch
The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to continue Samsung’s Fan Edition strategy by providing several features from its flagship Galaxy S26 lineup at a relatively more accessible price.
